Job Board

Matchbook brings job discovery, tracking, and interview prep into one focused experience built for designers. This was my 2024 personal project, where I owned the UI end to end, from research through a full design system to a working prototype. The goal was simple: replace the stack of tabs, spreadsheets, and inboxes with one calmer place to run a job search.

The job search is fragmented, especially for designers. LinkedIn surfaces developer roles, Indeed buries creative positions under generic filters, and once you apply there is no single place to see where you stand. User interviews and competitive analysis kept surfacing the same three pain points: irrelevant matches, application chaos, and no visibility into interviews.

I built the interface on a real design system: a defined grid and spacing scale, an icon set, color, and a full component library of buttons, inputs, and cards. Setting the foundation first kept every screen consistent and made new ones fast to assemble, which matters for a product with this many states.

Instead of generic filters, roles surface with a match percentage tuned to a designer's skills, so the most relevant jobs rise to the top. Clean, scannable cards show company, role, location, and fit at a glance, cutting the noise that makes other platforms exhausting to use.

Every application lives in one place with a clear status, so nothing slips through the cracks. A built-in calendar pulls interviews out of scattered email threads, and each one opens into a prep view with the company, the role, and what to expect, turning interview chaos into a plan.

The result is one focused app that carries a designer from discovery to offer without leaving the product. Fully designed and prototyped in Figma, Matchbook trades a pile of spreadsheets, tabs, and inboxes for a single, calmer job search.View the Figma prototype →
